How are you all doing? I hope you are having a good week. It’s freezing outside today, I can’t believe it’s December already! I’m snuggled up on the sofa with my dog, blanket, cup of tea and my laptop 🙂
Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I was very kindly invited to a blogger event in London for Dermalogica’s Clear Start Range product launch. The event took place at SNOG (frozen yoghurt) in Covent Garden. It was great fun, I really enjoyed the demonstration and trying out the products. The ladies from Dermalogica were really lovely and helpful. Special thanks to Abigail for organising such a fab event!

A little info about the range: Dermalogica’s Clear Start range is geared towards younger, breakout-prone skin. It takes a three level approach to clearing breakouts through combination therapy combining nature’s botanicals and the science of skin care. It unclog pores, breaks up bacteria and controls oil. The formulas combine medicated ingredients with skin-soothing botanicals – which means they are tough on breakouts, but kind to your skin.
Dermalogica’s Clear Start range consist of eight products:
– Breakout Clearing Foaming Wash* £13
– Breakout Clearing Pore Control Scrub* £13
– Breakout Clearing All Over Toner* £13
– Breakout Clearing Day Time Treatment* £16
– Oil Clearing Matte Moisturiser SPF15* £16
– Breakout Clearing Overnight Treatment* £13
– Breakout Clearing Emergency Spot Fix* £13
– Breakout Clearing Cooling Masque* £16
You can also get the Breakout Clearing Kit with 5 travel size products for £23.50
So I’ve been using the products for about a couple of weeks now, and I’m really happy with the results, I will go through all the 4 steps in my skincare regime with you.
Step 1 Cleanse:
I use the Foaming Wash every morning and evening, it deeply cleanses my skin but doesn’t leave it feeling tight or stripped. It smells really nice and fresh. It contains Salicylic Acid to purify your pores as well as Tea Tree and Lavender to soothe and calm your skin.
I also use the Pore Control Scrub 2-3 times a week to clear my pores and blackheads. It has microbeads, which deeply clean my skin and leave it really soft and smooth.
Step 2 Tone:
I use the Toner twice a day after I’ve cleansed my face. I spray some on a cotton round and swipe all over my face. It’s very refreshing and soothing, and definitely helps control my oil production. it also contains Salicylic Acid, as well as 12 gentle botanicals, including Lavender, Argan and Lemongrass.
Step 3 Treat and Moisturise:
I really like using the Daytime Treatment, it’s a great every day moisturiser. It really helps to treat and prevent my breakouts. It also helps to unblock the pores on my nose and chin. If my skin is a bit red or irritated, this moisturiser helps to soothe it, it’s perfect for sensitive skin.
I also really like to use the Matte Moisturiser, on days when my skin is extra oily or I know I will be spending the day outside, as it has SPF15. I have tried many mattifying products which haven’t worked for me but this really helps keep me matte for most of the day.
Step 4 Specialized Treatments:
The Overnight Treatment is fast absorbing gel that works while you sleep, it contains Salicylic Acid that helps to unclog pores and treat blemishes. It also helps with congestion and redness.
The Emergency Spot fix is great topical treatment that clears breakouts fast. I dab-on a small amount of it on my blemishes before bed and by the morning they look much better and less red and swollen.
Last but not least is the Coolong Masque, it’s one of my favourite products from the range. It clears my skin while cooling irritation. I use it 1-2 times a week and really love the results. My skin is left looking bright, clear and radiant.
