Sothys New Make-up Line ‘Little Black Dress’ Review!

Hi everyone,

How are you all doing? Sorry I’ve been away for a little while but it has been quite hectic my end with work and stuff…long story.

Anyway I’m back now with a very exciting review for you all! About a month ago I went to Professional Beauty in London (here’s a link to my blog post) and was really lucky to try Sothys new Make-up line, which had just launched. I’m always on about how much I love their skincare, and now that they have brought out a makeup line, I couldn’t be more excited!

And let me tell you, it doesn’t disappoint! ‘Little Black Dress’* is a luxury selection of make-up products to help you create the perfect Parisian look. I absolutely love it, it’s so classy and sophisticated! It was very kind of them to give me some of the products to try, so I can tell you guys all about it.

So let’s start off with the foundation. My shade is Beige Rose BR20, which I’d describe as a light/medium colour. It’s a neutral shade, which suits most skin tones and looks most natural. It gives a medium coverage. You get three types of foundation, each one with a different finish.

Teint Satine is an age-defying foundation, which gives you a rejuvenated complexion and smoothes wrinkles and fine lines, it my opinion it works a little bit like a primer.

Teint Mat is a skin perfector foundation, I particularly like this one as it gives a a matte finish, which helps with my slightly oily T-zone, to keep the shine at bay. I’ve also noticed that it minimises the appearance of enlarged pores, which is a bonus!

Teint Naturel is a sheer coverage foundation, which is very hydrating and gives you that ‘fresh glow’ look and healthy complexion. It enhances your skin and gives you a luminous finish. This foundation would be perfect for spring/summer.

Next on to another gorgeous product, The Illuminator, a beautiful illuminating trio for eyes and cheeks. The three shades can be used separately, or mixed together to achieve different make-up looks. I have been using it as a blush and a highlighter, it looks so natural, I absolutely love it!

I have also been using the Crayon Yeux Noir Universel, which is a very creamy black eye pencil perfect to line your upper and lower lash line with, and achieve the smoky eye look, as it comes with a build in blender. It’s waterproof and lasts really well.

Last but not least are the lipsticks, which are also fantastic. There are two types, Rouge Intense (I have number 240), which is a very opaque red colour but still creamy and comfortable on the lips, and Rouge Doux (number 121) a more sheer, moisturising version with a lightweight texture and a lovely fruity scent. They come in 20 gorgeous shades and I can’t wait to get my hands on some more of them 🙂

Sothys make-up collection has a few more products including Erase Skin Blemishes concealer, Dark Circle eraser, Powder foundation, High Definition setting powder, Complexion perfector, Mascara, Eyebrow pencil, Smoothing lip Filler and Plumping Lip Balm.

I hope you found this review helpful, and if you have any questions, please leave them in the comments below.
