Easy step by step Valentine's Day Makeup look

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and I wanted to create a very simple makeup look for you using some of my current favourite products. This look is super easy and it only took me a few minutes to do, so perfect for beginners or anyone who doesn’t have much time to spend doing their makeup but still wants to look put together 🙂 So whether you want to look sweet or flirty I have the makeup tips you need to feel beautiful and confident this Valentine’s Day!

Step 1. Start by priming your face, or using some kind of a base before applying your foundation. I used the Glow Job* tinted moisturiser from Soap and Glory to give my skin a little bit of a glow, for a heathy radiant look. It’s such a lovely product, I love using it when my skin is looking a bit dull and pale in the winter months, it also contains vitamins and antioxidants to keep your skin healthy and moisturised all day long.

Step 2. Apply a thin layer of foundation, nothing too heavy as we are going for a fresh, dewy look. I used the Benefit Hello Flawless foundation* which is my current favourite. It gives a light to medium coverage, it feels lovely on the skin and looks very natural. It’s a lovely brightening formula that gives such a healthy glow to the skin.

Step 3. Add a little bit of colour to your face by applying some bronzer to the areas of the face the sun would naturally hit. Using very light strokes, first apply the bronzer to the top of the forehead, the cheekbones, and down along your jawline. Your bronzer application will be in a ‘3’ shape on either side of your face. I love using the Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer, its the perfect shade (for light/medium skin tones) it gives a very natural look, and smells like chocolate which is a bonus 😉 Now smile and apply a little bit of blush on your cheekbones, choose a rosy pink shade or something natural. I went with the Too Faced Love Flush blush* in the shade ‘Justify My Love’ it gives a really healthy glow and I love the super cute heart shaped packaging, perfect for Valentine’s Day

Step 4. Next onto the eyes, I wanted to keep this look really simple and easy so I decided to skip eyeshadow and instead apply a soft dark brown eyeliner pencil/kohl, line the top and bottom of your eyelids (and water line) and then smudge a little (using your finger or a cotton bud) It will give you a lovely soft smokey eye look. I used the Smoulder Kohl* by Soap and Glory as it’s very pigmented and long lasting, also waterproof. The shade I have is ‘Cocoa Bean’ a lovely, rich dark brown. Follow up with a couple of coats of your favourite mascara. I used Benefit Roller Lash* which I’m currently hooked on, it lengthens and curls your lashes, also separates and doesn’t clump, it’s amazing! I personally love big lashes so I applied some falsies from Eylure, but you can totally skip this step 😉

Step 5. No look would be complete without brows, so give them a little brush and tame them with some brow gel. I need to fill mine in as they are a little bit sparse so I’ve been loving Archery* from Soap and Glory, it’s a retractable 2-in-1 brow filling pencil and brush, perfect for shaping your brows. I have the shade ‘Hot Chocolate’

Step 6. Lastly apply your favourite pink lippie, I decided to go with two products that I’m currently obsessed with, Benefit Lolli Tint which actually came out last year for Valentine’s Day. Its a beautiful candy pink lip stain, that you can also use on your cheeks as a blush, it’s super long lasting, just not very moisturising. So on top of that I decided to apply the Too Faced Melted Peony which is a very creamy and glossy lipstick that’s also very long lasting so my lips won’t budge all night 🙂

So what are your plans for Valentine’s Day this year? A night out with the girls, a quiet night in watching movies or maybe a special date… whatever you have planned I hope you have fun and if you decide to recreate this look, don’t forget to tweet me a picture xo
