PMD Personal Microderm Device / my review, first impressions & thoughts

Good morning and Happy Tuesday beauties! Today I’m gonna talk about a product that I have been dying to try for absolute ages. I have a PMD* review for you and I can’t wait to share my experiences. I’ve always been really good when it comes to my skincare and for a few years now I have been using anti-ageing products (I’m in my late twenties) And after hearing some great reviews on the PMD (Personal Microderm) I was really exited to try it for myself and see if it’s work the hype.

A Microdermabrasion session at a salon is pretty costly but with the PMD you can achieve the same results at a fraction of the price in your own home. You would ask ‘What is Microdermabrasion?’ Well it basically combines the power of deep exfoliation with vacuum suction to leave your skin looking brighter, smoother and more rejuvenated. The dead skin cells are instantly removed which helps with cell renewal and collagen production and of course the reduction of fine lines, light scarring and wrinkles.

So the PMD device claims to;

– Smooth away dull and rough skin texture
– Soften fine lines, wrinkles, blemishes and scars
– Improve skin tone, sun damage & age spots
– Clear out clogged pores, dirt and oil
– Rejuvenate skin while promoting new collagen growth and cell renewal
– Minimize the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, hyperpigmentation and blemishes for a more youthful complexion.

I have combination skin and I occasionally get blemishes and blocked pores, I also have some enlarged pores/scarring, as well as some fine lines so I wanted something that I can use and combat these issues head on and I think I have found it!

So after reading all the instructions and watching the dvd I was ready to use my device for the first time. I started off by thoroughly washing my face and patting it dry. It recommends you use the small white (training) disc to practise with and try it on your arm first. Then pull your skin tight with your free hand and glide the PMD using straightline motions. You will feel the suction so make sure you keep the tool moving and don’t go over one area twice. Finish off by applying a rich moisturiser/night cream. That’s pretty much it, you will get used to it with time. I have been using mine for over two months now, I use it every friday and I actually really look forward to it, it has become an important part of my pamper routine 🙂

I also wanted to mention that you get a few different discs, white, grey, blue, green and red. (small for the face and large for the body) Each disc colour provides a different level of intensity, I now use the blue disk which is for sensitive skin. You are also supposed to change your discs regularly. You can purchase more on the website.

I can say that after using the PMD, once a week for the last couple of months, I’ve definitely seen results. My skin feels soft and smooth, I have less blocked pores and congestion and some pigmentation/scarring has started to fade. It has honestly amazed me! I am pretty convinced that with continued use I will get even better results. It retails for £150 but it’s definitely worth the investment in my opinion. It’s now also available in the UK at Harrods.

I’m planning to talk about it in a upcoming YouTube video and demonstrate how I use it, so make sure you subscribe to my channel if you are interested to see that. So I would definitely recommend the PMD if you have acne scaring, pigmentation, wrinkles or you just want younger and smoother looking skin. I hope you found this review helpful and if you have any questions please leave them in the comments below and I will do my best to answer them 🙂
