Maybelline Master Contour V Shape Duo Stick – review & swatches

I’ve always preferred contouring with cream products and today I’m really exited to share with you these amazing new contour sticks from Maybelline. They are super easy and convenient to use and you’re gonna find out how in today’s review 🙂

Maybelline’s Master Contour V Shape duo sticks* are 2-in-1 contouring pencils, available in two shades – Light and Medium. They are very creamy and blendible, all you have to do is swipe and then blend out with your fingers. They give a really nice matte finish which lasts pretty well without creasing or fading. I love their texture, they glides on the skin really easily and blend super smooth. It’s really handy to have the two shades in one stick, which makes them perfect for travelling, you don’t really need any brushes or tools to blend them with, just use your fingers. Occasionally I like to use my beauty blender which also makes blending super easy and gives a flawless finish.

I would start off by using the contour shade to add a bit of definition and sculpt my face, I would apply it to the hollows of the cheeks, top of the forehead and along the jawline, I even use it on my nose to make it appear slimmer, it’s really easy to do and makes quite a difference 🙂 To blend just tap very gently with your fingers or use a damp beauty blender (blending sponge)

Step two is to highlight – I would apply a little bit on the cheekbones, bridge of the nose, the cupids bow, on the brow bone, under the eyes and on the eyelids. It does a great job on highlighting and also concealing any dark circles, it just evens everything out! You can apply as much or as little as you like for a very subtle contour or a slightly heavier, more defined evening look.

I’m currently using the medium shade as I have been self tanning, you can see swatches below. The light shade is also lovely and I’ll be using it when my tan fades away. So yes a great product, super easy to use and very affordable too. Retails for £6.99 available at Superdrug and Boots.

Have a wonderful day!
