L’Oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation & Bronzer / review + swatches

I’ve been trying out the new L’Oreal Nude Magique Cushion foundation and bronzer over the past week or so using a few different techniques to figure out the best way to apply them and if they work for me. Ever since they came out in the US I’ve been really exited to try them and they are finally available here in the UK 🙂

My skin is combination but in the summer months I tend to get quite oily so it was interesting putting these to the test and I’m looking forward to share my thoughts with you today, I’m also planning to film a first impressions video for my YouTube channel so be sure to subscribe if you are interested to see that.

L’Oreal Nude Magique Cushion foundation* is available in 7 shades. I have a couple of the lighter ones No1 Porcelain and No3 Vanilla also a medium shade – No7 Golden Beige. The lighter shades have more of a pink undertone and the medium/dark shades more of a golden/neutral undertones, which I prefer for my skin tone.

This foundation comes in a really gorgeous packaging with a pinky/purple mirrored top/lid. The compact has a good size mirror and a little puff applicator, when you lift the second lid it reveals the cushion which is soaked in foundation, it’s like a little sponge that bounces back to shape when you press into it. To apply the product you have to dip the little puff into the cushion, you can also use a beauty blender or a foundation brush to apply it. It’s really easy and you don’t waste any product applying it this way. I personally prefer applying it with a damp beauty blender or using the Real Technique makeup sponge.

The formula is thin but quite creamy and it blends really flawlessly. It gives a light coverage, although you can build it up to a medium by applying a few layers. It gives a satin finish, it doesn’t actually look like you are wearing any foundation at all, it looks very natural on the skin. It creates a nice flawless finish for makeup. It lasts for a good few hours before I have to blot, as my skin has been quite oily but if you use a good primer that will help.

L’Oreal Glam Bronze Cushion De Soleil* is a brand new liquid bronzer, it has the same cushion design as the Nude Magique foundation. You can use it to add a bit of definition to the face or for an all over glow. It gives a natural luminous look to your skin and has a lovely dewy glow. It’s great for enhancing your natural tan or for a bit of contouring.

This bronzer works really well with the Cushion foundation as the formula is the same and the two products really compliment each other. You can also use it on its own, it looks lovely on bear skin. The little sponge applicator is quite good for applying the product but I actually prefer using a damp beauty blender as you can use the pointy end to slightly contour and give your face a bit of definition.

The L’Oreal Glam Bronze is available in one shade which is pretty universal and would suit a lot of skin tones. I would apply a tiny bit if you are really fair, if you have a darker skin tone you may need to apply a few layers to build up the colour intensity.

Both products retail for £14.99 each but you can get them for £9.99 at the moment at Boots and Superdrug.

Have you tried either of these products? How did they work for you? What was your favourite way to apply them?

Victoria xo

THANK YOU! Finally a review from someone who has oily skin on this product; I’ve been desperately trying to find one! Thumbs up from me, this is so comprehensive and I now want to buy both of these products 🙂 I’m now recommending the Bronze for my Prom Looks article because of you xo

Aww I’m pleased you found it helpful hun, make sure you use a mattifying primer though I always use one with all my foundations especially this time of year. xo

Apparently Shu Uemura has a Cushion Blush, might be worth checking out if you enjoyed these 😉 xo
