Hello beauties, today I have for you another skincare post, which has been quite highly requested. Being a beautician I always get lots of questions about skincare and a lot of my clients want to know what I would recommend for the different skin types. I have combination to oily skin but occasionally I do suffer with dry patches and sensitivity, so in todays post I will be sharing some products that have been working really well for me helping me combat these problems.
Being a beauty blogger I’m always testing out new products in order to review them for you guys but that can sometimes really affect my skin and make it freak out. I started getting a lot of sensitive little bumps and spots, also some dry patches mainly around the sides of my head and my jawline. This could be caused by many different reasons such as a reaction to a new face product (moisturiser of foundation, maybe a new face wash or scrub) it could be due to your diet (since becoming vegetarian my skin has changed a lot, also a lot of dairy causes me to breakout) it could be hormonal or due to stress. So I’m not quite sure what caused my skin to freak out but I suspect it’s probably an ingredient in a product, as I’ve been trying a lot of new foundations recently.
Anyway I started using some new products from Avene that were recommended to me for sensitive/dehydrated skin and they’ve been working wonders, so I immediately thought I need to share them with you guys as some of you may be experiencing the same problem. Avene is a French skincare brand that can be found at your local Boots or french pharmacies and they specialise in products for problematic skin especially issues with dryness and sensitivity. They are also a very natural brand with 0% preservatives, parabens and fragrances, it is a brand that I always recommend to my mum who has rosacea and very sensitive skin prone to allergies.
I have been using the Avene Tolerance Emulsion as my daily moisturiser and it has been working wonders for my skin, it’s very light but still very hydrating and soothing. It makes a great base for makeup although I’ve not really been wearing much at all as I’ve been trying to give my skin a little break. In the evening I have been using the Avene Hydrance Optimale which is basically a hydrating serum, great for dry and sensitive skin. I’d apply a thin layer over my face and neck, let it sink in and then follow up with the Avene Tolerance Extreme Creme, which is an evening moisturiser slightly more rich compared to the day cream and great for super sensitive and allergic skin types. I have absolutely been loving this combination of products and it has really saved my skin. It’s much more balanced now, a lot less sensitive it feels hydrated and smooth and the little spots have started to go. I still have some but they are a lot less then before. I have actually received a lot of compliments on how clear and radiant my skin is and even on snapchat/instagram stories I haven’t been using any filters as my skin just looks healthy 🙂
The final product I wanted to mention is the Avene Tolerance Hydrating Mask, which I have been using about once a week and absolutely love. I’d normally put a thick layer all over my face and neck and leave it on for a good hour or so just before going to bed (while chilling out watching Netflix 🙂 and honestly my skin has been drinking it up! It’s so hydrating and lovely it just sinks in and makes my skin super soft and smooth. It has got some lovely ingredients including Avene Thermal Spring Water, which is brilliant for soothing dehydrated skin.
So I hope you find this post helpful guys if any of you are experiencing the same problems. Do let me know if you have any other recommendations as I’m always looking to try new products. You can purchase Avene here
Happy Thursday all and do come back tomorrow for another skincare post and a little giveaway 🙂
