LFW Diaries / What I wore OOTD / Shows & Events

Day 2 of London Fashion week started by going backstage with Maybelline for the Edeline Lee presentation, which by the way was absolutely beautiful, you can read more about it and see photos in yesterday’s post here.

London Fashion week loads on the pressure when it comes to dressing, and I don’t mean the models, I mean me 🙂 You want to do some street style snapping, get some great images for your blog, but deal with the rain, public transport, getting lost in the city, and making it to every show on your schedule without missing it…

I decided this season, I was going to dress as me. Not change to get attention from street style snappers, but wear things I would wear everyday, basically the things you see me wearing on my instagram feed. So I did some online shopping for the basics, classic casual pieces in neutral colours as that’s very much in trend for Autumn this year. I was also kindly gifted a few things from Debenhams and Asos so I put together a couple of outfits that were practical but still quite smart, without compromising my personal style.

I wore this beautiful nude pink shirt by Julien Macdonald (Designers at Debenhams) very classic and elegant. I love the delicate ruffle trim and cold shoulder detail, a very relaxed fit and lightweight material. I paired it up with some black skinny jeans (Asos) to keep it classy and smart. I wore a pair of nude court shoes (Dune for Asos) which gave a very contemporary appeal to the look and although they had a high heel they were quite comfortable.

My bag is from Jasper Conran (Designers at Debenhams) it’s a gorgeous nude bag quite smart also great for everyday, it features gold plated hardware and buckle fastenings, it’s very spacious which is perfect for me as I always carry a lot. I wore this nude velvet gold choker necklace and a set of gold hoop earring (both from Dorothy Perkins) Chokers are very trendy at the moment and I actually really like them. I thought it went quite well with what I was wearing.

Let me know what you think but I absolutely love this outfit, it’s so me!

Before my next show I was very kindly invited to Toni&Guy’s Styling Studio located within the main LFW venue at Brewer Street car park, by the Designer’s Showrooms. I had a quick refresh and a little trim, I decided to go for a sleek and straight look to keep it classic. My stylist Vicky did such a great job on my hair, she even gave me a goody bag full of products to use at home.

The Toni&Guy team were all so friendly and made me feel very welcome, I actually spent quite a bit of time relaxing over there, such a great idea to have a pop-up styling studio to chill out in between shows and have a little pamper 🙂

I popped into the fabulous Maybelline ‘Lipstick & Chill’ Lounge to check out some of their new launches and have my makeup retouched, that afternoon they were hosting an event with one of their makeup artists Neil Young who I met earlier backstage at the Edeline Lee Presentation. He demonstrated the current makeup trends and shared some of his tips and tricks, I absolutely loved his techniques and I will definitely be trying them at home. I did vlog some of the demonstration for you guys for my LFW series over on my YouTube channel (the video should be up this weekend)

Neil is so lovely and meeting him was the highlight of my day, he is so professional but still so down to earth. Actually the whole Maybelline team were really lovely, it was great meeting everyone as well as some of the other bloggers from the Maybelline Squad. We had Champagne and Canapés it was a fantastic event, so thank you for having me!

Then I headed to the Weleda LFW after party to celebrate Skin Food and Fashion for their 90th Birthday, which was amazing. It was held at One Belgravia, which is such a beautiful venue. I love Weleda Skin Food cream, in fact I love so many of their products, they are very natural and full of good healthy ingredients. It was nice to relax after a busy day of shows and have a few glasses of wine with my friends and colleagues. Great need of the night!
