Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics All Matte Palette / review & swatches

I couldn’t be more exited when Urban Decay introduced their brand new Naked Ultimate Basics palette* – the all matte eyeshadow palette we’ve all been waiting for!

It comes in a sleek rose gold packaging, it’s absolutely beautiful! I actually really like the squire compact, it comes with a very big mirror and dual ended brush, it’s quite a light compact, which makes it great for travelling. The palette includes 12 all new, must-have neutrals, each one is exclusive to this palette and completely different from the shades in Naked Basics and Naked Basics 2.

The palette features a range of neutral mattes, ranging from cool to warm. All absolutely beautiful shades, if I had to pick a favourite it would have to be ‘Extra Bitter’ which is a gorgeous burnt orange perfect for any autumnal makeup look. I love warm shades, they really compliment my complexion especially when I’m wearing bronzer.

The eyeshadows feel super soft and easy to blend, they’re very pigmented as you would expect with Urban Decay. They have great staying power and last all day on me even without wearing a primer, which is wonderful as I do have quite oily eyelids.

Shades included:

– Blow (light nude demi-matte)
– Nudie (soft pink-nude matte)
– Commando (light taupe-brown matte)
– Tempted (pale brown matte)
– Instinct (medium pink-taupe matte)
– Lethal (reddish brown matte)
– Pre-Game (pale yellow matte)
– Extra Bitter (burnt orange matte)
– Faith (medium warm brown matte)
– Lockout (rich neutral brown matte)
– Magnet (smoky gray matte)
– Blackjack (warm black matte)

To be honest I used to always prefer shimmer eyeshadow but since I’ve gotten older I tend to gravitate towards mattes so this palette is absolutely perfect for me. You can create so many different looks, from day to night. There’s been a lot of hype about this palette but I can assure you it’s totally worth it and I’d highly recommend! It retails for £38.50 and you can get it here

I’d love to know what you guys think, will you be picking this up? What’s your favourite Urban Decay palette?

Happy Sunday to you all,  Victoria xo
