Brows are everything to me. When it comes to the eyes, I can skip liner, eyeshadow, even mascara but never the brows. It’s a game changer for my face and it makes the world of difference. It took me years to finally be satisfied with the shape of my brows and years to learn how to draw it, although they’re still not perfect but I’m pretty happy with them at the moment.
Unfortunately I’ve not been blessed with full brows that only need some brow gel to seal the deal. I honestly need at least 3 products if not more for my brows to look right so today I will be sharing with you my current favourites.
So lately for the past year, I’ve been letting Benefit Cosmetics take care of my brows; from the waxing to the products, and that is because they do a bloody good job! 🙂 In case you didn’t know, Benefit provide tinting and waxing services in their boutiques where you can go and get them done and I tend to go about once a month, although I have skipped the last couple of months as I’ve been super busy with work.
I absolutely LOVE having my brows tinted and waxed, it honestly makes such a difference and although it would be more than enough for people with fuller brows, unfortunately is not enough for mine as they are pretty sparse so I still need to fill them in everyday so lets get into my updated brow routine!
Step 1. I always make sure to shape my brows into place with the spoolie side of the brush. This will make it easier for you to do all the drawing and filling later on. Because naturally, the shape of my brows is a little uneven, I always outline them with a brow pencil first. I have been using Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil (shade 4) for quite a while and I love it, it has a wind up tip that is so fine, perfect for drawing hair like strokes, on the other end it has a little spoolie which is so handy.
Step 2. To fill in the brows, I use the powder from Benefit Brow Zings Brow Shaping Kit. This brow kit comes with a wax and powder, No 4 is the perfect shade for me which isn’t too dark or too light and I love it! The powder will give you a more natural look and the wax can be used for the tail of the brows, although I never really use it.
I like to alternate between Brow Zings and KA-Brow, it just depends what mood I’m in 🙂 KA-Brow is a cream gel that comes with a brush and really reminds me of Anastasia DipBrow, I used it so much in the summer as it is waterproof and very long lasting. You get a lot of product and it’s very easy to work with. I love it because it’s very easy to achieve a clean line, without having to use a concealer.
Step 3. I use Benefit Gimme Brow to set everything in place and also help thicken my brows, due to its unique formulation that contains fibres that stick to your existing brow hairs and make them appear thicker and fuller, which is amazing!
Another product that I also like to use to set my brows is 3D Brow Tones, which is a gel that very subtly enhances your brows and adds highlights/lowlights to make them look more natural and 3D, such a fab innovative product! (both are in shade 4)
Step 4. This step is optional and I don’t do it every time but it really does make all the difference, instead of concealer I have been using Benefit High Brow Glow, which is a beautiful luminous brow highlighting pencil that I like to apply on my brow bone, it looks so pretty I love the finish. There is another pencil called High Brow that gives more of a matte finish if that’s what you prefer, they’re both really good but I tend to use this one more as I love how it accentuates my brow arch and gives me that lift 🙂
So that’s what I’ve been doing with my brows lately and I’m really happy with the results. I hope you guys found that helpful. I would highly recommend the whole Benefit Brow collection, it really is pretty fab and how cute is the new packaging I mean cum on! 🙂
