When it comes to Spring makeup, it’s all about dewy skin, bright eyes and bold lips. As much as I love dark, vampy Winter looks, I’m so over them now and I am all for the minimal, less-is-more look that Spring inspires.
If you haven’t found your signature Spring look, I’ve broke down this makeup tutorial in a few easy to follow steps to get you ready for the warm season ahead. I used a few new favourites from YSL Beauty* that I can’t wait to share with you, so lets get started…
Start by applying foundation/concealer to even out your complexion. I used YSL Touche Éclat Le Teint because it gives the perfect coverage and gives you that airbrushed look! I applied it with my beauty blender because I love the smooth, flawless finish that it gives. It’s so fresh and natural looking, it feels weightless on the skin and gives you that beautiful healthy glow, which is exactly what we want for Spring.
Apply some bronzer using light strokes, start with the top of the forehead, the cheekbones, and along your jawline. I always do a figure of ‘3’ on either side of my face. I used YSL Bronzing Stones in 01-Sunstone, it creates a fresh-looking complexion and a radiant glow that lasts all day. This is one of my favourite bronzers, because it glides so smoothly on the skin and looks very natural.
Smile and apply blusher to the top of your cheekbones, I used Babydoll Kiss & Blush (shade 08 Pink Hedoniste) which is a 2 in 1 air whipped mousse perfect to add a flush of colour to your lips and cheeks with a soft matte finish. It’s so easy to blend and looks really dewy and fresh, just dot it on your cheeks and blend with your fingertips. I love the little pearl applicator, perfect to apply on the lips as well.
I wanted to keep the eyes looking simple and fresh so I skipped eyeshadow and went straight onto mascara/eyeliner. I used the new YSL The Shock Mascara which is pretty amazing, it grabs and elongates your lashes, it also separates and curls them, it gives that intense volumised look, I absolutely love it! I also applied some Eylure individual lashes to the outer corners for even more drama, but feel free to skip this step. Finish the eyes with some black liquid liner.
Complete your look with a bright colored lippie, I opted for one of the new YSL Vinyl Cream Liquid lipsticks in Rose Mix (412) I fell in love with the colour, it’s such a beautiful raspberry rose pink, I get so many compliments when I wear it, it’s just gorgeous! It’s such an intense colour with high shine and a long-lasting stain. It’s creamy and really comfortable on the lips I just love it!
So what do you think about this look? What are your favourite spring makeup products/trends?
