I recently attended a Bra Fitting event at Debenhams Oxford Street and I wanted to share my experience with you, as well as a few helpful tips I learned at the event.
Finding the perfect bra is very important and essential in helping you feel comfortable and supported. The correct size bra can make you look slimmer, improve posture and even help your clothes fit better. So many women are wearing the wrong size bra, including myself! I found out that I was wearing a bra that was far too small for me 🙂
At Debenhams you can get fitted by their in-store experts who’ll help you find the perfect bra, just drop into your local store – no appointment required, and an expert will be on hand to answer all your questions and find the bra which not only fits you perfectly, but also suits your requirements and shape.
It’s a free service they offer and there’s no minimum spend. The fitter will take you to a changing room and ask you to remove your top and keep your bra on and then fit you in a bra you have chosen or she may suggest using a bra of her choice. I chose the style of the bra myself and the lady suggested the size for me, which fitted perfectly, it felt so comfortable and looked very flattering. It made such a difference wearing the right size as opposed to a size smaller in my case!
Here are a few tips I learned at the event:
The underband should be horizontal across your back. It should be snug but with enough room to fit two fingers underneath it
The wires at the front should sit flat at the breastbone between your breasts
Your breasts should be fully enclosed in each cup and there should be a smooth line where the cup ends
The bra straps should be secure, but not tight. If you drop the straps, the bra should stay in the same place
It was actually very hard to decide on the style of bra as Debenhams have so many beautiful designs and colours. I wanted to go for something different as I always tend to wear black, white or nude bras so I opted for this lovely peachy pink bra with daisy lace design by the brand Floozie, it’s so pretty and girly and perfect for Spring. I love the matching knickers – such a beautiful design and quality.
I really hope that you found this post helpful and if you have any questions at all please leave them in the comments below.
Thanks so much for reading,
Happy Sunday! Victoria xo
